Easy homemade frozen yoghurt ice lollies for kids

With this scorching weather, we’re sure your little ones are constantly raiding the freezer and asking for ice lollies. After all, what beats a refreshing, cool snack in the sunshine? But as parents, we are understandably conscious about how much sugar we’re giving our kids, and with many of the ice lollies in the supermarket containing very high levels of sugar, we know you might be after a healthier alternative.

It’s surprisingly super easy to make your own ice lollies and pack them full of flavour (and nutrients), which is great for kids - especially when appetite may be limited in this heat, but you still want to keep them well hydrated. Read on for two of our favourite flavour combos to serve up - both make around 4-6 lollies depending on the size of your mould…

Easy frozen yoghurt ice lolly recipe for kids

 

PEACH & RASPBERRY RIPPLE ICE LOLLIES

What you’ll need:

  • Half a tin of peaches (in juice)
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 5-6 tbsp of natural or Greek yoghurt (can be dairy free)
  • A handful of raspberries

How to make: Blend the peaches, vanilla extract and yoghurt together in a smoothie maker, food processor or with a hand blender until smooth. Add the fruity mixture to your moulds, then drop in some whole or mashed raspberries! Freeze and enjoy!

BANANA & PEANUT BUTTER ICE LOLLIES

What you’ll need:

  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 heaped tbsp of peanut butter
  • 5-6 tbsp of natural or Greek yoghurt (can be dairy free)
  • Optional: 1 square of chocolate if your choice

How to make: Blend all your ingredients together in a smoothie maker, food processor or with a hand blender until smooth. Pour into your lolly moulds and freeze. It’s that simple. Easy snacks for kids, sorted.

The possibilities really are endless when it comes to these homemade ice lollies. The yoghurt is the perfect base to create a whole host of flavours - next time you could try coconut yoghurt with pineapple and mango, or Greek yoghurt with strawberries.
